The PYP Program

At the heart of the programme's philosophy is a commitment to structured, purposeful inquiry as the leading vehicle for learning.

The program of inquiry is the school's framework for the PYP. It is based on six transdiscplinary themes that provide the structure for the exploration of knowledge. Students explore subject disciplines through these questions and are challenged to engage in important ideas.

NIC offers a holistic curriculum that prepares a community of learners to engage with global challenges through inquiry, action & reflection.
The PYP is holistic in nature & promotes open communication based on understanding and respect. The PYP program fosters the interplay of asking, doing and thinking that empowers young people for a lifetime of learning independently & in collaboration with others.

NIC offers a balanced approach, through which students access a broad range of content that spans academic subjects, which focuses on the interrelations between subject areas.

NIC teachers facilitate the learning process by creating the educational environment that encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning. NIC teachers model and value inquiry and they provoke students’ natural curiosity to wonder about important subject areas and to look at various means to answer questions.

NIC believes that learning should start from the students’ own learning to help them make connections between their experiences and the new information derived from the inquiry.
